New Orleans, New Orleans, United States (4E) – Former Spice Girl and new America’s Got Talent judge was reportedly booed during her debut at the reality talent search show’s first night of auditions on Monday night.
According to TMZ, the crowd jeered at the singer when, after the performance of popular New Orleans brass band Lagniappe, Mel B said that she was not a fan of brass or jazz music.
The audience allegedly booed her loudly, shouting “Go home” and “No respect” to the new judge.
The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, who is said to be “very frank” and “strong,” according to NBC’s Paul Teledgy, leaned over to fellow judge Howie Mandel, who in turn gave her a hug.
Mel B was tapped to be judge for AGT last February as replacement for Sharon Osbourne. She joins the rest of this season’s judges including Mandel, Howard Stern and model Heidi Klum.
